Scientist: Protein biochemistry

We are currently seeking a protein biochemist to extend high-throughput protocols for protein expression and purification as well as protocols for systematic characterization of recombinantly expressed proteins. Requirements: PhD in biochemistry or related field and postdoctoral or industry experience. Must be capable of performing standard subcloning techniques routinely. Must be thoroughly familiar with expressing protein in E. coli, insect cells, Chinese hamster ovary cells. Must be thoroughly familiar with the standard techniques of protein purification, including size exclusion, ion exchange, and affinity chromatography. Must be thoroughly familiar with performing enzymatic activity as well as binding assays. Must be familiar with X-ray crystallography, circular dichroism, surface plasmon resonance, analytical ultracentrifugation, light scattering, equilibrium gel filtration chromatography, and other standard biophysical characterization techniques.

Scientist: Protein chemistry

We are currently seeking a protein chemist to extend our current collection of proprietary crosslinkers and the high-throughput protocols for their use. Requirments: PhD in chemistry, biochemistry or related fields and post-doctoral or industry experience. Must be thoroughly familiar with performing routine multistep organic syntheses. Must be thoroughly familiar with silica (gravity or flash chromatography) and HPLC purifications. Must be capable of performing routine protein modification reactions and workups. Must be capable of performing proton and 13C NMR, mass spectrometric, infra-red spectroscopic characterizations of synthesized compounds.

Scientist: Peptide mass spectrometry

We are currently seeking a mass spectrometrist who specializes in analyzing peptides by mass spectrometry. Requirments: PhD in chemistry specializing in mass spectrometry and post-doctoral or industry experience. Must be thoroughly familiar with nano scale HPLC. Must be familiar with the existing theories for the mechanisms of peptide fragmentation as well as the various existing methods for inducing peptide fragmentation. Must be familiar with standard proteomic mass spectrometry sample preparation techniques. Must be familiar with standard proteomic data analysis software packages, e.g., Discoverer & Mascot.
