Lance Martin (Founding Manager) received his PhD in
Biochemistry from California
Institute of Technology in 2001. For his thesis, he solved the
X-ray crystal structure of the neonatal Fc receptor in complex with
its Fc ligand. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Biochemistry
Department at the Stanford
University School of Medicine from 2002 through 2008, where he
developed technology central to Martin-Protean. In Chicago, Lance
has continued to develop technologies for analyzing proteins
and protein structure by chemical modification and mass spectrometry.
